KISSES

Kallie has started giving kisses today! She used to turn her head every time someone would try to kiss her, but now she seems to really like giving kisses....the open mouth slobbery ones!

13 MONTHS

Kallie is 13 months old today! Here are some things about Kallie:
  • Kallie is officially walking! She rarely crawls now.
  • She is working on trying to master the art of walking while drinking from her sippy cup (see picture below).
  • She no longer has a binki!
  • She has 8 teeth and she is working on another one (6 on top and almost 3 on the bottom).
  • She can sign milk. If she really wants her milk, she will use both hands to sign milk! She has also learned that we keep her milk in the fridge so sometimes she will go to the fridge and pull on the handle trying to open the door to get her milk.
  • She is eating real food and loving it (she was done with baby food at 10 months).
  • She loves pizza, bananas, cereal bars, cheerios, pasta, cheese, chicken, hamburger, cottage cheese, avocados, corn, crackers and almost anything that mommy and daddy are eating.
  • She still hates peas (that's my girl!).
  • She loves to share her food.
  • When she is done with her food, she throws it at us or on the floor.
  • She is down to one nap a day and will usually sleep for 2-3 hours.
  • She loves to empty out drawers and containers (and sometimes we're lucky enough that she puts everything back).
  • Overall, she doesn't like watching TV or movies. Her attention span is about 2 minutes. If we're in the car though, she likes watching Baby Signing Time.
  • She loves to dance when she hears music.
  • She can give high fives.
  • She loves climbing on things.
  • She usually prefers her Aunt Ashlyn over me.
  • She can fake cry until she gets what she wants.
  • She loves going swimming.
  • She loves being outside.

    Cabin

After the fireworks on the night of the 3rd, we went up to the cabin for a few days. Here are some pictures...

Kallie loved riding the four wheeler.

    First time eating a popsicle.

Kallie experiencing the cold snake river for the first time!

Kallie loves drinking out of a "real cup".

She spent a lot of time talking on the phone with her friends.

This is what Kallie thought of the boat!
She tried to jump out of the boat into the water many times.

And this is what she thought of her life jacket!

She loved putting her feet in the water.

She also loved sitting in the cold lake water.

And of course she had to taste the water too!

Getting ready to jump in the water to Grandpa.
I didn't bring her swimming suit down to the boat because I didn't think
she would want to get in the lake!  It was so cold!

She was fine at this level, but if he tried to lower her into the water more she would scream!

She loved playing in the boat.
(After she realized that the lake wasn't a big warm bath tub like she probably originally thought!)

She also loved driving the boat!

    Walking!

Kallie started taking a couple steps before her 1st birthday, but tonight was the first night she pushed herself up to stand and start walking by herself!  She took 6 steps.  She wanted to walk more, but we didn't let her because Daddy wasn't there to see.  Ignore the fact that she's just in her diaper...she's walking toward the sink for bath time!

    4th of July Celebrations

This year (like almost every year) we spent the 4th of July in Idaho Falls.  We went to the parade, hung out with family, and went to the fireworks.

Ashlyn, Kallie and Brynn walking to the parade.

Kallie slept for the first hour of the parade.

After getting a good nap, she loved the parade.
    She especially loved the horses!

She loved sitting on Grandpa's foot rest.
She climbed up there by herself and refused to get down!

    Watching the fireworks!

This was her face most of the time.

She wanted to touch the fireworks!
She seemed to love the fireworks.  We weren't surprised because she loves lights.
