It's a boy!!!

Our baby boy was born this morning at 7:16 am. I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday and my doctor decided my blood pressure was too high and it was time for this baby to be born. We had 2 hours to go home and get ready and be back at the hospital. I was induced around 10:30 pm. I ended up having an emergency c section because the baby was posterior, his hand was coming first, and his heart rate kept dropping with each contraction. We haven't decided on a name yet, but hopefully we will soon. We love him so much already and we're so glad he's part of our family.
All ready for the c-section.
Scared to death!
His right arm that was trying to come out first was all swollen and bruised.
Getting some oxygen.
On the scale - 5 lbs 13 oz, 20 inches long
First sponge bath.
Proud daddy with his first son.
The first time Kallie saw her little brother.
She wasn't so sure about him.
She's trying to decide what to think of him.
She decided she wasn't ready to hold him and pushed him away!
About 10 minutes later she decided she wanted to hold him.
The first thing she did was lean down and give him a kiss (we didn't get our camera ready fast enough).
She cried when people would try to take him away!

14 MONTHS

Kallie turned 14 months old today. It is amazing how much she has changed in just the past month.
  • Kallie has learned many new signs. She can sign milk, eat, more, outside (her favorite place to be), and please.
  • She LOVES shoes...eating shoes, wearing shoes, holding shoes, anything to do with shoes. When we are on the shoe isle at the store she insists on being out of the cart. She walks down the isle and points to all the shoes. We could probably leave her on that isle, go do the rest of our shopping, and still find her on that isle when we are done.
  • When I ask Kallie where the baby is, she points to my tummy.
  • She still loves food. She has recently started loving peanut butter sandwiches. I've tried jelly on the sandwiches, but she doesn't seem to like it as much.
  • Kallie still hates getting her diaper changed.
  • She is good at pointing to what she wants and whining until she gets what she wants.
  • Kallie is constantly talking...I can't understand what she says most of the time, but she seems to know what she is talking about.
  • She can say mama, dada, baba (baby), wasat (what's that?), and many other words I can't understand.
  • Kallie has 10 teeth (6 on top, 4 on bottom). Four of those teeth are molars. She is working on #11.
Here are some pictures from today...

Making a mess in her room. She is very good at this.
Kallie's "help me" face. She wanted to get up on the chair.

    New Pajamas

Kallie got new pajamas from grandma. She was so excited. She couldn't stop waving her hands in the air, giggling, and clapping.

    1 Year Old Pictures

I got Kallie's 1 year old pictures back today and I LOVE them! Thank you Amanda!

    New Hair

Ashlyn and Brynn got extensions today. So cute!

    Thanksgiving Point

Today we went to Thanksgiving Point with some friends. I am dumb and forgot to bring the stroller, which ended up not being too bad because Kallie wanted to walk everywhere anyway.

    Kallie and Ty

    Kallie LOVED the cows!

She even tried to climb through the gate to get a closer look.

Enjoying ice cream after being out in the sun.

    Eating lunch.

    Clean Up

Kallie saw that I spilled some water on the ground (and I happened to have a towel in my hand). She reached for the towel, so I handed it to her and she cleaned up the mess. What a good girl! Now I just need to teach her how to do the dishes and the laundry.

    New Sippy Cup

Kallie got two new sippy cups today. I'm sick of her soft tip sippy cups spilling, so we're going to try to switch her over to the hard tip ones.

    Playing at the Park

Tonight we went to the park in Centerville and then we went to grandma and grandpa's house for Kallie to play with Ashlyn and Brynn.
Ready to play at the park.
At first she wasn't too interested in the park, she just wanted to walk around.
Kallie and Daddy going down the slide.
    So much fun!
She loved going on the little slide by herself!
Making new friends. Kallie loves other kids, especially boys!
Kallie saw a basketball that looks like the one she has at home and I think she thought it was hers. So she was going to get it from the boy.
Kallie is hoping they will let her play with the basketball too.
Watching them play basketball. She was no longer interested in the slides.
Eating ice cream with Aunt Ashlyn.
Coloring with Aunt Brynn. She had a little too much ice cream and ended up throwing most of it up. I took her outfit off, but she didn't want me to take her shoes off.
