Jackson - 17 months

I can't believe that Jackson is 17 months! Here are some things about Jackson....

  • The only two words he says are "ash" and "this". He can say mamma and dadda, but he doesn't really know what they mean and he rarely says those. He is constantly jabbering....but no idea what he is saying. I think he might be like his uncle and not talk until he is 3.
  • His nicknames are Jacksies (Kallie started this one), Jack, and Jackaroo.
  • He is very smart and understands a lot! Although he can't talk, he sure knows what he wants and does whatever he has to in order to get what he wants. This mainly consists of pointing and whining.
  • He loves to look outside at the snow. There is a snowman in our backyard and every time I ask Jackson where the snowman is, he runs to the back window and points and giggles.
  • He is still a monkey and loves to climb on everything. He especially likes to climb on the chair to get to the computer.
  • He loves music and is starting to dance to music. His sister does a good job of trying to teach him all the cool dance moves.
  • He loves listening to Daddy's ipod.
  • He doesn't take 3 hour naps anymore. The longest naps are 2 hours.
  • He doesn't like hats.
  • He loves balloons.
  • He is learning how to use a spoon. He isn't very good, but he loves it.
  • He won't sit still in a shopping cart anymore. He is constantly wiggling his way out of the buckle. It is hard to shop with two kids that are always trying to get out of the cart!
  • He still LOVES to eat. He eats all day long. On Saturday, we were getting ready to go out to dinner with friends. I got Jackson all ready to go, then I said, "let's go bye-bye." He ran as fast as he could to the cereal drawer. He opened it up, filled each hand with reeses puffs. Then he came back to me and put his hands up for me to pick him up. He was loaded up on food and ready to go. He has done this twice since Saturday too. He acts like I never feed him and he has to bring food just in case. Silly boy!
